Uva Ursi Extract is extracted from the leaves of Uva Ursi. The main components of Uva Ursi Extract are arbutin and ursolic acid. In addition to its antibacterial, antitussive, diuretic, and other pharmacological activities, arbutin is also an inhibitor of tyrosinase in human melanocytes. Arbutin can effectively inhibit tyrosinase activity in the skin. It blocks the formation of melanin, and accelerates the decomposition and excretion of melanin through its direct combination with tyrosinase, thereby reducing skin pigmentation, and removing stains and freckles.
